We started Foster back in 2016 from our Eastside bungalow. We had just moved to Austin after traveling together, and we were eager to dive deep into the city that was in front of us. And boy did we. We hosted nearly a hundred concerts, dinners and cultural art events for the community of Austin, and went on to produce experiential activations for brands that we could have never dreamt of having the opportunity to work with. We had hit our stride. And then 2020 hit. We’d be lying if we said that in the midst of the world shutting down, there wasn’t a deep subconscious part of us that was feeling overwhelmed, over-extended and burnt out. In many ways, it was the pause we so desperately needed that we would have never given ourselves. Since coming out on the other side, there have been whispers, considerations and explorations of what it would look like to bring Foster back into the world again. We were slow with this decision, because we wanted to ensure if we were to do this, we would do it when we reunited with that creative spark – the one that inspired us to start all those years ago.

When we first moved to Austin, a friend of ours told us “Build the city you want to live in.” It struck a chord, and inevitably was the foundation of what made Foster, Foster. Today, Austin looks a bit different than it did when we first stepped foot here. And because of that, we recognized that there was a subtle sense of responsibility that we felt – one that motivated us to bring the magic back to what we did. To bridge the gap between “New Austin” and “Old-er Austin” and celebrate what it is that made us fall head first for this city.

Foster will look slightly different then it once had, but the soul will forever remain the same. Our work is two-fold, creating experiences for the city we call home, and creating impactful activations for brands who share our values and trust our vision. We will sprinkle our community moments when the stars align – and when they do, we hope that people who look different on the surface will find a sense of understanding sitting beside one another at a dinner table. We hope that those who have landed in Austin who hold opportunities find themselves at one of our shows to open doors for the very ones who make up our city’s fabric.

At our core, our hope is that we bring people together through moments that are moving and original. You know, the ones that when you reflect back on your life you think back to that night that you felt alive, felt seen, or just simply felt whole.

So, without further ado, we’d love to invite you to come along for the ride with us – again.
